Ramsey Ali
Director of the First Responder Institute and PTSD IOP at Institutes of Health
Dr. Ali is Director of the First Responder Institute and PTSD IOP at Institutes of Health, where he specializes in treating complex PTSD. In addition to treating patients, he engages with the Institute's clinical transdisciplinary community by facilitating team meetings, developing programs, supervising pre-licensed clinicians, assessing patient diagnoses, and leading individual/group treatment and outdoor exposure planning. Dr. Ali is certified in the trauma modality Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT). Moreover, he is fully trained in and utilizes other evidence-based trauma modalities, including Prolonged Exposure (PE) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). Prior to IOH, Dr. Ali was a postdoctoral resident at the San Diego VA in the residential PTSD clinic, Aspire Center. Dr. Ali has extensive experience working in hospital settings, focusing on PTSD, chronic pain, and substance use. Dr. Ali has several publications, including co-authoring a book chapter on treating the comorbidity of psychiatric disorders and chronic pain.
