Stephanie will talk about why COPLINE isn’t advertised as a "suicide hotline," whether it’s confidential, and why calls aren’t “pinged” or recorded. When COPLINE receives a critical call from a cop, what steps do they take to help? What is the criteria for a retired officer to become a COPLINE Listener? How does COPLINE create purpose and mission for retired officers to become COPLINE listeners?

Stephanie Samuels is a psychotherapist who works exclusively with first responders, mostly law enforcement in New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, and Oklahoma. Ms. Samuels has lectured all over the country on PTSD and vicarious trauma, including undiagnosed PTSD and the fallout from departmental silence after officers are involved in critical incidents.
