Responder Resilience

On this episode, we’ll be speaking with Nick Nunnally, USCG (ret), City of Danbury Firefighter and Plank Owner of 2NDGO.org Nick will be talking about transitioning from one purpose to another and creating a community that lasts after your career is over.

2NDGO, a veteran owned and operated company, is teaching military veterans and first responders how to be more resilient in their everyday lives.

2NDGO helps first responders and veterans who are in the process of reintegrating into the workplace or community after transitioning or retirement. They are a non-profit organization that strives to help our veterans and first responders with the opportunities and challenges they will face when transitioning to a new purpose.

They provide dynamic, high energy and engaging training that is interactive, one of a kind and practical. The program is designed to help those who have served and are transitioning to a new purpose, and to overcome life's challenges in the civilian world.

Nick Nunnally began a life of service at 16 when he became an EMT after a car accident. He joined the National Guard to pay for college tuition, and went active duty in the Coast Guard. Nick retired after 20+ years and tried to transition into the civilian sector. After working 2 different civilian jobs, Nick grew increasingly confused about his life direction. Ultimately hired by Danbury Fire Department, Nick Realized there was a need for services not addressed by current resources. Nick and his partners Jason Culbreth and Paul Laedke Started 2NDGO with the mission:

To serve veterans and first responders that are transitioning from one purpose to the next, with the ultimate goal of identifying, supporting, and implementing that newfound purpose.
