Patrick Fitzgibbons is a retired Police Commander who went through dark periods, then sought help at FHEHealth’s Shatterproof Program for first responders, which he says saved his life. Patrick is now on a mission to help other responders navigate the same issues that he faced. In this episode, Patrick discusses the struggles he experienced, and provides advice, inspiration, and hope for overcoming mental health issues, through his role as National Outreach Liaison for the Shatterproof Program for First Responders.

Patrick shares important information about how responders, especially Law Enforcement Officers, can overcome specific obstacles, and increase their ability to manage emotions during stressful situations without turning to self-medication.

Patrick Fitzgibbons is a retired Police Commander from Colorado with over two decades of experience. He went through dark periods, and is now giving back to the First Responder Communities as National Outreach Liaison, FHE Health – Shatterproof Program for First Responders.

Patrick is also a military veteran serving with the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, NC. Patrick holds advanced degrees in Organizational Development and Leadership, and a part-time college professor who enjoys mentoring and coaching the next generation of criminal justice professionals.

Patrick is the host and creator of the Criminal Justice Evolution podcast.
